UCDC was founded by Jason Thomas, a long-time health and safety leader, with over 15+ years of case management working for one of BC’s largest industrial unions. But Jason’s passion for this work isn’t just professional – it’s personal. Years ago, he suffered a serious workplace injury himself. That experience changed everything.
Going through the system as an injured worker opened his eyes to the confusion, fear, and frustration many employees face after an injury – and how few resources truly exist to help. It also revealed how many well-meaning union reps and corporate managers are left without the training or tools to effectively guide the process.
UCDC was built to change that.
